2004-05:
Was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Year after capturing the
WCC Individual Tournament Title with a score of 208 (-8) on April 11-12...became
just the third SMC player to win the WCC Individual title by defeating All-American
Michael Putnam from Pepperdine by two strokes...currently ranks 19th in the
country in scoring average, and 31st overall in the individually ranked players...posted
a first place individual finish at the Bill Cullum/Countrywide Intercollegiate
with a score of 208 (-8)...the scores of 208 at the WCC Championships and
the Countrywide Intercollegiate were career lows...finished the season with
the second lowest stroke average in school history at 71.8...had scores of
75 or lower in 28 of 33 rounds, including 24 rounds of par or better and seven
rounds in the 60s...shot a career-low, and team season low, round of 65 in
the third round Lexus Naples Intercollegiate Invitational, to help SMC capture
the team title and post a school record 16-under score in the final 18 holes...in
seven of the 11 tournaments, he posted total scores of even par or better...had
six top-10 individual finishes...currently ranks 11th in the nation in greens
in regulation at 73.0 percent and 24th in the nation in fairways hit at 79.5
percent...is 36th in the country in total birdies with 115 and ranks ninth
nationally in scoring on par-3s at 3.05...he was named First team Cleveland
Golf and Golf Coaches Association Academic-All American...was the team captain
and leader of the best team in SMC history...held the #1 position at SMC for
3.5 years and has only missed one tournament in his four years...is the reigning
Washington State Amateur Champion...posted a second place finish at the 2004
Pacific Coast Amateur Championship.
2003-2004:Named
to the 2004 All-WCC First Team following his third place finish at the 2004
WCC Championships...finished his season as the No. 66-ranked player in the
nation according to Golfstat...seventh in nation in fairways hit with a .814
percentage...set a new Saint Mary's single season record for lowest stroke
average with 73.0...played in every event for Saint Mary's and participated
in a total of 28 rounds during his junior campaign...recorded six top-10 individual
finishes...placed fourth at the 2003 Vandal Fall Classic after posting a second
round score of 66 and finishing the tournament with a total of 209 strokes...took
top individual honors at the Santa Clara Shootout with a round of 74 against
LMU and Santa Clara... was the highest placed WCC golfer at the competitive
Turtle Bay Intercollegiate after finishing sixth and the Bite/Pacific Coast
Intercollegiate after finishing in a tie for eighth... posted two of the Gaels
three lowest rounds on the season with a 66 during the second round of the
2003 Vandal Fall Classic and a 67 during the second round of the 2004 WCC
Championships...led the Gaels with a total of 14 rounds of par or better.
2002-2003:
Named to the 2003 All-WCC First Team after recording one of the most impressive
years by a Saint Mary's golfer in recent memory...named to the 2003 All-WCC
Golf Academic Team after finishing the spring season with a 3.70 GPA...selected
as the 2002 WCC Men's Golf October co-Player of the Month...finished as Saint
Mary's highest finisher in eight of their 10 events... at the 2002 Vandal
Fall Classic and UC Barbara Invitational, he posted a round of 66 at each,
to set and match his own record of the two lowest rounds in Saint Mary's golf
history...captured medallist honors at the Santa Clara Men's Invitational
with 215 strokes (1-under par)...took 2nd place at the 2002 Vandal Fall Classic
with a season low 207 total strokes (6-under par)...tied for 3rd place at
the Sacramento State Invitational...finished in a tie for 4th place at the
2003 WCC Championships with 216 total stokes (Even par).
2001-02:
Played in eight tournaments with a total of 22 rounds... posted the teams
lowest average score with only 74.4 strokes per round...was the team's low
man three times, shooting a one-over par (217) to place third in the 2002
Spring Invitational and a four-under par (212) to place third in the Cal Poly
Intercollegiate as well as a 25th place finish with a 222 at the Family Motors
Invitational...also placed second in the Intercollegiate at Diablo Grande,
where he lost by just three strokes to teammate Brent Jensen...finished 12th
at the WCC Championships with a score of 227...posted the team's lowest round
(67), of the season, in the Cal Poly Intercollegiate.
